Friday 8th and Monday 11th, May: (WH10) Modern Social Challenges & (AP) Unit 5 Document Analysis

On Friday 8th and Monday 11th, May I am going to ask World History 10 students to complete a book reading on Modern Social Challenges. AP students will complete Unit 5 Document Analysis and begin preparing for Unit 5 DBQ. Please read all announcements and follow all instructions carefully.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

- ALL Students! Counting this post we have only FOUR  more posts and we will be finished! If you do what I ask you to and make sure everything is done, you will be finished by 20th May. You will then be able to turn in your textbook at the main office anytime STARTING 21st May! HOORAY!!!!

- All Students, remember, please follow instructions carefully and check your grades. Please don't wait if there is an issue; let me know ASAP!

WH10 Classes ONLY! (5th, 6th, 7th, & 8th periods) Please do the following to complete class for Monday 11th, May:

AP Classes ONLY! (3rd & 4th) Please do the following to complete class for Friday 8th, May:

- Check your email. I sent important info on your AP Exam last time.

- Please complete the Unit 4 Review Check from last post and share it with me in Google Docs or print it and share it with me as a picture. The first option is by far the easiest. This is due TODAY! IMPORTANT: If you are having issues with your partner, let me know so I can help solve your concerns. You will not be docked for something your partner should have done.

IMPORTANT: Although the actual test will have only 5 documents to analyze we will be analyzing ALL the documents as we would for a normal DBQ. This will give us more practice and that way the actual test is easier.

- Today is our last practice DBQ. HOORAY!!!!!!! We will prepare and analyze documents for Unit 5 so we can write another practice DBQ. You will have two options and you can choose which DBQ to write. You do not have to write both. Today we will focus on analyzing the documents for the DBQ you choose. Please follow the instructions carefully:

1. Familiarize yourself with the prompt and the documents for the DBQ you choose by reading through them. Remember, you are NOT writing the essay today:

2. Using the following guide, analyze all of the documents using the SOAPS method. It is not necessary or even possible to get answers on every part of the SOAPS, but you should do as much as you can. You should actually write things down, you can use a physical piece of paper or make a Google Doc.

3. If you get stuck, have questions, or do not understand something research it or email me. I will help you!
4. Have your analysis ready for next time so we can write the essay. You do NOT have to begin actually writing until next time, but you can start today if you wish..
